Steve Kuhtz is a Clovis, California native and holds a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from California State University, Fresno. He has been serving clients in the insurance and financial services industry since 1993 and holds insurance licenses spanning more than 30 states.

In 2002, Steve recognized the need for a higher standard of client service and co-founded Kuhtz Diehl Insurance with Robert Diehl. Since its inception, the agency has been committed to delivering exceptional service and personalized insurance solutions. While specializing in employer-sponsored group benefit plans, Steve also began helping employees navigate their Medicare options. Over the years, he has assisted more than 1,000 individuals with their Medicare coverage, developing extensive expertise in Medicare plans and helping clients identify solutions to address gaps in coverage for non-Medicare-covered expenses.

In 2009, Steve and Rob launched First Sierra Insurance Services, a Medicare-focused general agency dedicated to supporting independent insurance agents. Through outstanding training, service, and ongoing support, First Sierra has grown to a network of approximately 400 agents across California, Nevada, and Oregon. In addition to its headquarters in Fresno, the company has offices in Sacramento, Bakersfield, Pasadena, Manhattan Beach, and San Jose. Steve's experience has enabled him to educate agents on ethical, compliant, and client-focused approaches to helping Medicare beneficiaries select the coverage that best fits their individual needs.

Steve considers himself incredibly fortunate to share life with his wonderful wife, Amanda. He is also the proud father of two adult children, ages 24 and 21, from a previous marriage and treasures watching them continue to grow and pursue their own paths. Family remains one of the most rewarding parts of his life.

 

Outside of his professional life, Steve enjoys an active lifestyle that includes sailing, competing in triathlons, snow skiing, water skiing, boating, backpacking, cycling, swimming, traveling, and spending quality time with his family.
